Guest Speaker: Don Elgin
“If you can’t win, make the person in front break the record!”
Don Elgin was raised in the NSW town of Tocumwal. Being born without the lower portion of his left leg was not a barrier for this boy who would make his first Australian team at 18 years of age.
Don Elgin represented Australia for 14 years and was a triple Paralympic medalist from Athens 2004, competed in the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games where he won bronze in the Pentathlon. Two years later he climbed to his highest world ranking in the Pentathlon when he collected silver at the World Championships. In 2004 Don became a triple Paralympic medalist Winning Bronze in the Pentathlon and 4x100m relay along with silver in the 4x400m relay.
Focusing on a journey that has inspired listeners across Australia and around the world, Don provides his audience with practical tools to get the most out of life. Coupled with his passion for life it is evident why Don has become one of Australia’s most sort after motivational speakers. Don speaks of practical ways to get the most out of everyday. His real life examples and passion are evident every time he speaks.
